Giampaolo Fallai
Giampaolo Fallai was born and raised in Florence, Italy. He married artist Anna Jurinich in 1971 and they moved to New York where they raised their two sons, Simon and Mark. A trained woodworker and machinist, Gaimpaolo spends most of his free time cooking, gardening, fishing , and feeding his family and friends.
The star of Giampaolo's cookbook, Mamma, Si Mangia?, is his mother, Mafalda. Mafalda's lifelong passion for food shines through in the wide variety of her recipes collected here, from gourmet dishes to traditional peasant fare--all imbued with the atmosphere of her Umbrian and Florentine roots. The stories the author, Giampaolo tells of her hilarious escapades are just as delicious.
Each chapter follows a theme from Mafalda's life and from her cooking,
and all the recipes include commentary by the author on precisely
how-and why-his mother prepared them as she did. From traditional
favorites to gourmet classics--all with Mafalda's special touch-these
authentic staples of Italian cuisine will be a welcome addition
to any cook's repertoire.
