Enzo Febbraro

Enzo Febbraro, one of Washington D.C.'s hottest young chefs was born in Naples, Italy where he developed a love of cooking from his family. He spent many hours as a child learning the cherished family recipes of his mother and grandmother. Enzo began working in a kitchen and attended culinary school when he was just 13 years old. At 16, he graduated and embarked on a culinary tour of Europe with stops in Paris, Nice, Munich, Garmish, Madrid, Milan, Yugoslavia and London. He lived in London for four years, and cooked with some of the most prestigious and experienced chefs in Europe.

Upon coming to the United States, he landed his first restaurant job in Los Angeles and then went on to work in New York, Philadelphia, and Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Hotel before coming to the Washington D.C. area. What he likes most about working in Filomena in Georgetown is the "cultural exchange between different nationalities, the unique blend of people and that both natives and visitors to Washington D.C. recognize the world class restaurants and nightlife in Georgetown." Washington is the closest to being a European city in that it is a melting pot and mix of many cultures."

"People ask me what was my favorite city of all the places I have lived and I tell them that each place was different because it was a different time in my life. When I was sixteen, it was all about being on my own in France and away from my family. But later it became more about the cooking and it became a career." There is little doubt that Enzo has found his calling.

Enzo continues to delve into the rich culinary heritage of Naples, Italy. Exotic special's such as Foie Gras stuffed with Saddle of Rabbit or traditional Neapolitan fare such as Gnocchi with Eggplant, Tomato and Mozzarella are just a few of the delights you will find when you dine at Filomena.
