Sara Jenkins

Sara Jenkins is Executive Chef at I Coppi, a Tuscan restaurant located in New York City's East Village. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Sara came to professional cooking by helping out in the kitchen in Todd English's original Figs restaurant in Boston, where, six months later, she was named Executive Chef. In addition, she helped English and his partners with the expansion of the Figs concept to other sites of the Boston area. Sara spent two years working in restaurants around the world, in places as diverse as the Carribean, Southeast Asia, and Italy. She worked at Baldovino, a trattoria in Florence's Santa Croce district and later at the Osteria del Caffé Italiano, also in Florence. In January 1999, she moved to New York to become chef at I Coppi, where she created a menu of simple, and flavorful Tuscan ingredients.
