Attilio Marini
Born in Montreal, Canada and raised in Bridgeport, CT, Chef Attilio Marini has always had a great love for Italian cuisine. Growing up under the culinary tutelage of his mother, Attilio learned at an early age the beauty of simple, exquisitely prepared food. Starting with an introduction to Italian cuisine from his mother, a native of Frosinone Italy, his love affair with Italian food flourished. Attilio opened his first restaurant at the age of 18, while studying finance at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. He describes his culinary style as being predominantly Italian with an international influence, as he prefers clean, uncomplicated flavors so that each ingredient can be truly savored and appreciated for its contribution to a dish. A dedicated family man who has been married for twelve years and who has two daughters, he credits his mother for his talents in the kitchen and believes that food is how a family truly comes together. Because of his dedication and devotion to Italian cuisine and furthering his knowledge of food on an international level, Marisa’s has been a success since its opening in 1989.
