Nunzio Patruno

Nunzio Patruno was born in the small town of Castellana Grotte, nestled in the Apulian heel of Italy's Adriatic coast. The Chef's beginnings are hereditary, learning the very essence of Italian cooking at the knee of his mother Angela to whom he most credits his success. After graduating from the Scuola Alberghiera A. Perotti in Bari, Chef Patruno worked throughout Italy, at such restaurants as the Hotel Puntarossa in San Felice Circeo, Hotel Lido in Venice, and Hotel Dei Trulli in Bari. Chef Patruno furthered his culinary experience as head chef of the Ristorante Polpetta in the magical country of Monaco. The Chef's love of Italian cuisine was fused with the cuisine of Provence, creating his own flavorful trademark. Chef Patruno came to Philadelphia in 1981 to open the Monte Carlo Living Room with his partners, Giorgio Giuliani and Umberto Degli Esposti. This collaboration has also created other equally successful Italian restaurants such as Primavera in Philadelphia, Primavera in Wayne, and Primavera Pizza Kitchen in Ardmore.

Chef Patruno also can be seen teaching culinary courses throughout the region's schools and guest appearances on local television culinary programs. The Chef is also known for his contributions to efforts such as the March of Dimes and Race for the Cure for Breast Cancer Research. Chef Patruno is available to cook in your home for any special occasion or to simply gather friends and have your own private cooking lesson.
