Dave Robison

Centro's Executive Chef Dave Robinson is on the fast track to culinary success. A native of New Mexico, Robinson has quickly worked his way up the ladder by gaining experience in some of Boston's top kitchens with leading chefs such as Rene Michelena, Michael Schlow and Charles Draghi.

His passion for food began at an early age when his mother exposed him to various cuisines such as Arabic, Italian and Spanish. Robinson originally attended college to pursue an art degree, but extensive travel through Europe would eventually change his career plans. While in Italy, Robinson immersed himself in the food, wine, culture, and history of the country, sparking his interest in becoming a chef.

Robinson's passion for Italian cuisine eventually led to a position as sous-chef at Marcuccio's in Boston's North End. He also worked at Boston's renowned Radius before joining Centro's opening team in 2000. In little more than a year, Robinson has moved from line cook to executive chef of the acclaimed Cambridge trattoria.

Robinson aspires to keep his food interesting and inventive while sticking to traditions and honest cooking. Of his role at Centro he states, "this small trattoria is basically a dream for me."
