Sardinia
Sardinia
is an island off the western coast of Italy in the northern Mediterranean
Sea. It is bordered by the Tyrrhenian Sea on the east and the Sea
of Sardinia on the west. It is divided from Corsica in the north by
the Mouth of Bonifacio. The name of this region was taken from the
ancient people who lived therethe Sardinians.
Sardinia's terrain is primarily hilly and mountainous in the interior
with a high, rocky coastline. The earth is covered with grass, stones,
sugar oaks, palm trees, and white and pink sand, and the species range
from flamingoes to wild boars and bucks. The climate is mild and warm,
and rains fall occasionally during the spring and fall. The winters
are considerably warm, but a violent western wind hits the island
during that time as well. The beautiful island of Sardinia attracts
many tourists, especially to Smeralda Coast, the Bay of Alghero, the
Gulf of Cagliari and Gallura.
