Tuscany

Rolling hills covered in olive groves and grapevines, bright yellow fields of sunflowers and inviting cobblestone streets are just a few of the many beauties of Tuscany-the Italian region of every foreigner's dreams. Tuscany, located in central Italy, is known for its rich history, beautiful art, delicious food and superb wine. Today, olive oil, glassware, jewelry and linens are produced in Tuscany.

Tuscany began its contributions to European society with the Tuscan people's advanced creativity and desire to achieve. The Etruscans were devout and artistic and turned to the land, the mines and trade to enliven their society. They politically organized the area and paved the way for a civilized region with towns and social progress. The Etruscans set the foundation for development until the 20th century, when Tuscany met setbacks during the second world war when many towns were bombed, including Livorno, Pisa and Firenze.

Nonetheless, Tuscany is thriving today. The northern mountains, rolling Chianti Hills and the barren Crete Senesi offer a diverse landscape for visitors who may choose to stay in areas ranging from the larger cities of Florence and Siena to the scenic hill towns.
