Festival name: Palombella's Feast
Date: On Pentecost (the 7th Sunday after Easter)

About the event: This strange feast celebrates the Pentecost and has been around since the 15th century. At noon, the Bishop waves a white cloth from the town palace, signaling the Master of Ceremonies to shoot a ring with a live dove on it along a steel cable from the roof of the church to the center of the square. The ceremony is meant to represent Christ's spirit's entry into the Apostles. The dove is later given to a married couple, who keep it as a pet.
