BC, so Rome's citizens commemorate the date each year. Official celebrations
take place at the tomb of the unknown soldier in Piazza Venezia and wreaths
are placed near the Fosse Ardeatine on Via Ardeatina. There is a parade of military
bands during the day and fireworks on the Aventine Hill at night.
