Veneto

The name Veneto derives from the ancient people who lived in the region. Veneto's borders touch Austria in the north; Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the Gulf of Venice in the east; Emilia-Romagna in the south; and Trentino-Alto Adige and Lombardy in the west. In the mountains, the climate is more harsh with cold winters, but along the shores of the Adriatic Sea and Lake Garda, the weather is warm and mild.

Veneto is one of the most populated regions in Italy with many large cities of cultural interest, including Venice, Padua and Verona. The cities are located mainly on the plains, away from the mountains in the north. Wheat, corn and fruit plants are primarily cultivated in the valleys of Veneto.

If you travel to Veneto to see the famous city of Venice, don't forget to stop at the beautiful towns on the foothills of the Alps and Dolomites, view the artistic and romantic scenery, and eat some of their world-famous white asparagus.
