Red Wines

Perfumed, fresh, extremely
quaffable wines versatile enough to pair with fish.
Soft in tannins, these wines accept a variety of food pairings; best when drunk between one and five years from vintage. Fleshy, meaty, large-scaled wines meant to age and develop in time; better balance of freshness and complexity when young.
2002 Musso Dolcetto d'Alba $14.
A deep ruby-red wine with violet hues and a delicate fruity bouquet of blackberries and dried fruit that develops into warm vanilla and oak aromas. This is a luscious, dry, light-textured red that is perfect for summer picnics.
2000 Castello d'AlbolaChianti Classico $19.
Cherries and plum show in this wine's perfume and continue on the palate. Distinctly medium-bodied with a nice spicy finish, this is Chianti at its best- not too complicated and perfect for quaffing with good friends.
 
  2000 Castello di Verrazzano Chianti Classico $20.
The dedication that this producer has to making superior wines shows in this fantastic Chianti. Ripe cherries and jammy red fruits play on the nose, and a smooth, soft texture lends it well to spicy pastas.
2001 Feudi di San Gregorio Rubrato $24.
Made with 100 percent Aglianico, this wine can age for a while before the tannins mellow and the fruit comes forward in the wine. It is full-bodied and concentrated with gentle overtones of tobacco and strawberries.
  2000 Rocca delle Macie Chianti Classico Riserva Fizzano $30
This Chianti is well-made nd classically-styled with incredible lushness of fruit and body, a brilliant cherry nose and a great spicy backbone. A terrific match with bistecca fiorentina, the famous steak from Tuscany.
2001 Luigi Maffini Cenito $60.
A blend of 70 percent Aglianico and 30 percent Piedirosso, this wine has scents of tobacco and cocoa that introduce a spicy palate with notes of blackberries and coffee. This wine is best suited for roasted meats.
      1999 Varaldo Barbaresco Bricco Libero $65
This Barbaresco has a fabulous fruity bouquet with aromas of blackberries, chocolate, plum and violet. A huge, full-textured red wine with a velvety- smooth finish. This wine goes well with a roasted leg of lamb.
      2000 Feudi di San Gregorio Serpico $70
A top-of-the-line Southern Italian red that is made entirely from 100-year-old Aglianico vines and aged in new French oak barrels for 14 months. It is tasty and concentrated with accessible fruit and good structure.
      1999 Podere Scalette Il Carbaione $70
A fantastic Super Tuscan made with 100 percent Sangiovese di Lamole grapes. Enormously concentrated with ripe fruit and a toasty vanilla character; it is a good wine to cellar and then enjoy with aged cheeses.

White Wines

Light dishes with rich flavor, seafood, antipasti, simple pastas Seafood, frittatas, white meats, lighter truffle dishes. Grilled fish, flavorful pastas, lemon chicken, white meats.
Refreshing acidity, pure fruit flavors, clean, crisp finish, no evident oak. Most versatile whites; rich in texture, complex in flavor. More powerful, fleshy wines with less pronounced aromatic profile and fruit flavors, suitable for aging.

2002 Giovanni PalomboBianco delle Chiaie $12.
A well-balanced white wine with a refreshing, delicate bouquet and a smooth, silky finish. It is an excellent accompaniment to antipasti or light vegetable-based risottos.
  2002 Cielo e Terra Pradio Pinot Grigio $12.
This is a brightly-colored wine with greenish tones and a persistent nose reminiscent of fresh pineapple and crusty bread. The flavor is full, with tastes of Artemisia flowers to follow.
  2002 Tenuta BeltrameTocai Friulano $16.
A straw-colored wine that showcases a delicate floral bouquet and a bittersweet aftertaste of peach and toasted almond. Excellent with light antipasti, fish soup, risotto or just as an aperitivo.
2002 Musso Chardonnay Langhe $14.
Vivid yellow in color with green hues, this wine has a delicate, fruity bouquet with aromas of pear and green apple and subtle hints of vanilla and jasmine. A dry wine with an almost buttery texture.
  2002 Feudi di San GregorioFalanghina $17.
Made from one of Campania's top-quality white grapes by one of its best producers, this is a delicious and refreshing white wine, medium in body and perfect for coastal fare.
 
  2002 La Tosa Sauvignon Blanc $25.
This wine has a light acidity, medium body and pleasant crispness in the mouth with terrific aromas of ripe, tropical fruit and apricot; pear and apple flavors with lemon peel and clove on the finish.
 
  2002 Girolamo DorigoRibolla Gialla $25
This wine has an exotic, floral nose and delicate aromas of tropical fruit. Smooth flavors, excellent balance and a spicy finish make it a lovely match for seafood risotto or grilled salmon.
 
  2002 Ronchi di ManzanoPinot Grigio $25.
This Pinot Grigio is very concentrated, with bright fruit flavors of peach, pear and apple. It has a slight mineral quality that lends it great balance. Great paired with prosciutto and melon.
