Lazio
Lazio's viticulture thrives in two main areas: the Castelli Romani in the Alban hills, southeast of Rome; and the province of Viterbo near the Tiber River. This region primarily produces white wines such as Malvasia del Lazio and Malvasia Bianca di Candia. Lazio's pride, however, is the Frascati DOC zone, one of Italy's top 20 most important DOCs.
