Molise
Eighty percent of the land in Molise is covered with mountains, with very little space left for grape-growing. However, vineyards still grow in this region, mainly in the lower valley of the Biferno River, a few miles south of Termoli. The grape varietals produced include Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano Toscano.
