The Italian Culinary Center > Kitchen

the kichen From the day we made the decision to move the Italian Culinary Center into new headquarters, we knew we wanted a setting that was both contemporary and comfortable, so that guests would immediately feel at home.

The colors and design had to match the light and airy quality of the space, which features extraordinary views of Fifth Avenue from its many large windows. Our goal throughout the design process was to give the Italian Culinary Center the feeling of a home kitchen, so that anyone attending our classes would feel they could easily recreate the results in their own house.

italian gourmet clubWe started with wood cabinets from Timberlake. Their warmth perfectly balanced the sparkle of the stainless still refrigerator and the high-tech stove. These beautiful cabinets were customized to hold all of the Italian Culinary Center's place settings, cooking equipment, dry ingredients, and more.

Our brand-new kitchen wouldn't be complete without counters to demonstrate on! We knew the Italian Culinary Center's new space need to be functional, with a large counter area for demonstrations by our house chef and guest chefs from all over the United States, and preparation space for dinners for 30 or more people. The Ecru counter from DuPont's Corian Private Collection exactly fit the bill. The wide Corian countertops are beautiful, as well as easy to clean and a snap to repair.

Beauty, functionality, and easy maintenance were our guidelines in choosing the furnishings for the new center. The Wolf touch-controlled stovetop fit all of these requirements. It's especially effective in keeping multiple pots going at once-a necessity for that frantic time just before a big dinner!

Sink, Refrigerator, Icemaker, Wine Cooler

The deep country sink by Franke, provided by Goldman Associates, is exactly what house chefs and guest chefs need to wash large quantities of produce without making a mess. Goldman Associates also provided the Italian Culinary Center with a spacious Sub-Zero refrigerator, icemaker and wine cooler. The wine cooler is able to maintain multiple temperatures in three different compartments-perfect for keeping dozens of wines and bottled waters at perfect serving temperature.

In addition, two large ovens from Wolf, provided by Goldman Associates, come complete with a warming compartment. These allow us to cook breads, roasts, lasagna, and more-all at once and at different temperatures, while keeping other foods warm.

Also thanks to Goldman Associates for generously furnishing us with dishwashers from Asko. These are vital for keeping all our glasses and dishes clean as they come in from multiple courses throughout the night!
