Stawberry-marsala Sauce

Marsala and other sweet wines make wonderful flavorings, but they are very rich, so use them with discretion and in small doses. Pour this delightful sauce over muffins or other dry pastries.

  • 1 pound ripe strawberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Marsala
  • 2 tablespoons honey

In a small sauce pan, combine strawberries, Marsala, and honey. Simmer for about 8-10 minutes, until the fruit is soft. Remove from the heat and let cool. Serve as is or purée in a blender.
