Aphrodisac Strawberries in Balsamic Vinegar

From Italian Cooking and Living, February/March 2002

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 pint strawberries, washed, hulled and halved

Prepare the sauce: Put the vinegar, orange juice and sugar in a pot. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer until it reduces by half and has a syrupy texture. Pour the warm sauce over the strawberries. The heat will quickly marinate and soften the fruit. Serves 4
